Carolin Melia Brendel is a media artist, artistic researcher and sociologist of finance. Her work explores the multimodal nexus between power relations and knowledge formations using transmedial, installative and anti-disciplinary methods. For her PhD Project on hardware metabolisms at the University of the Arts Bremen and the Basel Academy of Art and Design, she examines material-discursive cycles of digital infrastructures and their entanglement with the deep ocean hydrosphere in the context of digital capitalism.

Her artistic solo and group works have been shown in the context of Baltan Laboratories Eindhoven, Schaufler Lab Dresden, Wiener Festwochen, Kunsthalle Wien, Künstlerverein Malkasten Düsseldorf, Swiss Artistic Research Network and Blue Institute of Futures Milan a. o. She is author of the book Aerobic Topologies (2025) published with Schlebrügge.editor.

Igor Štromajer—Homo ex Machina, an electric para-artist, “le Pavarotti du HTML”—explores tactical a=tF², intimate guerrilla strategies, and traumatic low-tech forms of communication. His works have been shown in over 300 exhibitions in more than 60 countries, including transmediale, ISEA, EMAF, SIGGRAPH, Ars Electronica Futurelab, V2_, IMPAKT, CYNETART, Manifesta, the U3 Triennial, FILE, the Stuttgart Filmwinter, the Hamburger Kunsthalle, ARCO, Microwave, the Banff Centre, Les Rencontres Internationales, The Wrong – New Digital Art Biennale, and in many other galleries and museums worldwide. He has received numerous awards, including in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Dresden, Belfort, Madrid, Maribor, Podgorica, and elsewhere.

His works are part of the permanent collections of various renowned art institutions, including Le Centre national d’art et de culture Georges Pompidou – Musée national d’art moderne (Paris, France), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid, Spain), Computerfinearts – net and media art collection (New York, USA), and UGM – Maribor Art Gallery (Maribor, Slovenia).

He is a member of the Zentrum für Netzkunst e.V., Berlin.
