The project evaluates events of the past three years and derives principles for more accessible and artistically exciting formats, examines the technical infrastructures used for their openness and develops concepts for mediation and moderation in complex event settings.

In collaboration with Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm, we are testing and experimenting with tools, discuss formats and reflect on the processes necessary for implementing hybrid projects on-site and in existing institutional structures.

Hybrid Publication

In cooperation with the Mainz University of Applied Sciences and students of the Department of Design, an open and hybrid publication is being created that collects voices from the festival and curatorial scene on the development of international festivals and hybrid festival formats.

With contributions by: allapopp & Alexander Sahm, Jeremy Bailey, Cat Bluemke & Jonathan Carrol, Dr. Kate Craddock, Jasmin Grimm, Sarah Fartuun Heinze, Naoto Hieda, Begüm Inal, Maurice Jones, Prof. Friedrich Kirschner, Daniel Seitz, Birte Sonnenberg and many more.

Artistic Prototypes

The further development into a hybrid multiplayer performance of the project “Songs of Cyborgeoisie” by BBB_ is one of the prototypical artistic formats developed within the framework of NODE switch, on which the developed principles will be tested at Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm.

Another artistic prototype within the framework of NODE switch is the “Festival API” by Jeremy Bailey, which thinks of festivals as an open-source structure.
