NODE+CODE #19 – Interfacing Sleep
Soup, drinks and artistic encounters with sleep.
For NODE+CODE #19, we’re drifting into the liminal space at the edge of consciousness. Interfacing Sleep invites you to explore artistic and technological practices that connect with our sleeping bodies and dreaming minds.
Contributers
Two contributions will guide us through the evening:
MARTIN DÖRR will introduce Latent Entity, a participatory digital organism activated by human sleep. Together, we’ll reflect on the commodification of fatigue and the invisible infrastructures of capitalist-technical sleep systems.
MAX LEVY will present Sleepdancing, a novel approach to guided sleep in the form of digital danceworks. Through choreographed bodies and choreographed code, we’ll dive into the exploration of guided hypnosis and digital art designed for introspective relaxation.
Program
We’ll open the doors at 18:30, allowing us all to get comfortable and start at 19:00 with the presentations from our speakers.
Join us at the Chaos Computer Club for a sleepy, cozy evening. We’ll have free soup for everyone — and maybe even a few pillows, in case you start to nod off.

Max Levy
www.max-levy.comBorn in Tokyo and raised in the USA, Max Masahiro Levy works between choreography, sound, and visual design. Trained at San Francisco Ballet, he worked with numerous ensembles in the US and Europe before becoming an independent artist in 2017. Since then, Max lives in Frankfurt am Main, producing introspective works for stage and installation, blending meditation, sound art, and dance for venues such as Stadttheater Gießen, Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, saasfee*pavillon, tanzhausNRW, CNDB, among others. He has held residencies with STL Tallinn, Staatstheater Darmstadt, among others, and was a participant of the Choreographic Coding Lab Köln 2023, as well as receiving nominations from Dance Europe and tanz magazine for his continued work as a performer.
And what else will happen?
With this meetup season we will dive into the community – and, of course, we will again serve drinks and a yummy soup for free!
Just come by or RSVP (for better planning) here!
What is NODE+CODE?
Since 2014, the meetup invites creatives, designers, artists, coders and anyone else interested to a series of events with changing locations and thematic focuses – all related to working with code in design and the arts. We want to build a community of people interested in the creative and critical application of technology in Frankfurt and Rhein-Main.
