Blackout — the power’s out. Suddenly, we can no longer communicate because the internet is down. It’s hard to believe, but there actually are alternative networks that function entirely without the internet.

Together with artist Yacin Boudalfa and amateur radio operator Thomas Blob, we’ll start by exploring how mesh networks work in the first Off-Grid Frequency Lab to then we’ll build our own devices so we can communicate off-grid even in the event of a blackout.

Who is this workshop for?

Whether you’re a student, artist, designer, prepper, or just curious, here you’ll learn how communication without infrastructure works.

What do you need to bring?

No prior knowledge is required—just a smartphone or your laptop and a powerbank and the desire to build your own off-grid device!

How much does it cost?

The choice is yours! If you’re able, you can pay a participation fee. But you’re also welcome to participate for free with a sponsored ticket!
