A workshop on documentary storytelling in theory and practice by Medienbildungszentrum Süd
We encounter documentary formats every day. In addition to classic documentary films and television documentaries, certain YouTube videos and content on social media channels also use documentary narrative styles. The “record & display” workshop teaches technical, creative, and legal basics and produces a contribution to network policy and digital education.
“record & display. Documentary storytelling in theory and practice” takes place as part of the nationwide “Netzpolitik & Demokratie” (Network Policy & Democracy) action days and the soft opening week of display. display is the new space for digital practice in the center of Frankfurt and a cooperation project between NODE and the Digitalization Department of the City of Frankfurt am Main.

record & display. Dokumentarisches Erzählen in Theorie und Praxis
Dokumentarische Formate begegnen uns täglich. Neben dem klassischen Dokumentarfilm oder der Fernsehdokumentation, arbeiten auch bestimmte YouTube-Videos oder Inhalte auf Social-Media-Kanälen mit dokumentarischen Erzählweisen. Im Workshop „record & display“ werden technische, gestalterische und rechtliche Grundlagen vermittelt und ein Beitrag zu Netzpolitik und digitaler Bildung produziert.
„record & display. Dokumentarisches Erzählen in Theorie und Praxis“ findet im Rahmen der bundesweiten Aktionstage „Netzpolitik & Demokratie“ und der Soft Opening Woche von display statt. display ist der neue Raum für digitale Praxis im Zentrum Frankfurts und ein Kooperationsprojekt des gemeinnützigen NODE Verein zur Förderung digitaler Kultur e.V. und der Stabsstelle Digitalisierung der Stadt Frankfurt am Main.
