In Frankfurt entsteht display – der neue Raum für digitale Praxis. Als begehbarer Screen und Interface, Experimentierlabor und Community-Space fördert display die kreative, kritische und praktische Auseinandersetzung mit Technologie. display vernetzt und vermittelt Digital Literacies, Fachwissen und digitale Werkzeuge, Menschen und Ideen für und mit der Stadtgesellschaft und engagiert sich für eine gemeinwohlorientierte digitale Zukunft.
display ist ein Kooperationsprojekt des gemeinnützigen NODE Verein zur Förderung digitaler Kultur e.V. und der Stabsstelle Digitalisierung der Stadt Frankfurt am Main.
Für display suchen wir eine Community- & Programmkuration im Bereich Medienpädagogik und digitale Zivilgesellschaft.
Die Community- & Programmkuration im Bereich Medienpädagogik & Digitale Zivilgesellschaft ist eine der zentralen Stellen und eine der Haupt-Gastgeber*innen des Raums. Als Community- & Programmkurator*in bist du verantwortlich dafür, das Programm mitzugestalten, eine lebendige, technologie-affine Community aufzubauen und den Raum als intergenerationellen Treffpunkt zum Thema DIY-Kultur, Digitalität und Medienpädagogik in Frankfurt sichtbar zu machen. Du baust persönliche Verbindung zu Nutzer*innen, Menschen und Organisationen der digitalen Zivilgesellschaft, zur Bildungs- und Hacker*innen-Community oder zu (Medien-)Pädagog*innen – Freelance oder Studierende – auf und bleibst laufend mit ihnen in Kontakt. Du bindest externe Partner*innen in das Programm ein und du entwickelst eigene pädagogische Formate oder Veranstaltungsformate. Dabei arbeitest du eng mit dem Team des NODE e.V. und den anderen Teammitgliedern im Raum zusammen.
Neben dir gibt es mindestens 2 weitere Personen, die sich um das Projekt kümmern, ebenso Programm gestalten, sich konkret um den Raum oder die technische Einrichtung kümmern.
Idealerweise bringst du Kenntnisse und ein eigenes Netzwerk im Bereich der digitalen Zivilgesellschaft, Bildung und Wissenschaft mit und verfolgst die zentralen Diskurse – mit Fokus auf digitale Bildung und Digitalpolitik. Um gut im NODE-Team anzukommen, bringst du einen ausgeprägten Teamgeist mit, Offenheit, Interesse, Leidenschaft für das Themenfeld und hast bereits eine differenzierte Position zu den o.g. Themen. Du bringst bereits gewisse Moderationskompetenzen mit bzw. scheust nicht, öffentlich als Gastgeber*in zu sprechen und mit neuen Menschen, Besucher*in des Raums ins Gespräch zu kommen.
→ Deine Aufgaben
- Entwicklung, Koordination und Umsetzung des Programms (Workshops, Talks etc.), inhaltliche Weiterentwicklung des Programms bspw. im Bereich intergenerationelle Formate und Jugendprogramm rund um digitale Kultur.
- Gewinnung von Partner*innen und externen Programm (bspw. Zusammenarbeit mit Schulen, VHS, Bibliotheken, Medienzentren und Akteur*innen der Bildung, Kommune)
- Aufbau und Pflege von Netzwerken zwischen Kultur, Forschung, Zivilgesellschaft und Kreativwirtschaft.
- Community-Arbeit: Menschen zusammenbringen, Formate für Austausch und Diskurs entwickeln und moderieren.
- Öffentlichkeitsarbeit & Repräsentation: Inhalte kommunizieren, den Raum bei Veranstaltungen vorstellen, Sichtbarkeit in Frankfurt schaffen.
- Ansprechperson im Rahmen von Öffnungszeiten sein.
→ Dein Profil
- Du hast mindestens 3 Jahre Erfahrung in der Kulturvermittlung, Bildungsarbeit oder pädagogischen Programmentwicklung (Haupt- oder nebenberuflich oder in einzelnen Projekten). Wir freuen uns, Menschen mit verschiedenen Hintergründen kennenzulernen!
- Du bringst viel Begeisterung für digitale Kultur, kreative medienpädagogische oder partizipative Formate mit.
- Du hast sehr gute kommunikative Skills, bringst sehr viel Offenheit mit, Netzwerke zu knüpfen und Menschen zusammenzubringen.
- Du hast Offenheit für und Interesse an interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit mit Künstler*innen, Coder*innen und der kommunalen Verwaltung.
- Du hast eine Bereitschaft, zwischen Konzeptarbeit und praktischer Organisation zu wechseln.
- Du arbeitest gerne im Team und bist bereit, ein Projekt von Grund auf neu aufzubauen und mitzugestalten, Prozesse mitzuentwickeln und auch mal Aufgaben zu übernehmen, die nicht vorhergesehen wurden.
- Digitale Arbeitsumgebungen (Mattermost (oder Slack), Cloud-Arbeitsumgebungen etc.) sind selbstverständlich für dich.
- Du bringst vielleicht sogar praktische Erfahrung in Programmierung oder Vermittlung von digitalen Tools mit.
- Du bringt gute Kenntnisse in Englisch und Deutsch mit.
- Dein Lebensmittelpunkt befindet sich im Rhein-Main-Gebiet.

Was ist display?
display ist der neue Raum für digitale Praxis im Zentrum Frankfurts. Als Schaufenster, interdisziplinärer und intergenerationeller Treffpunkt und offener Experimentierraum fördert er die kreative, kritische und praktische Auseinandersetzung mit Technologie.
Er ist Anlaufstelle für informelles und Community-basiertes Lernen und praktische wie politische Fragen rund um die digitale Transformation. Der Raum verbindet Wissen, Ressourcen und Menschen – und vernetzt Akteur*innen der digitalen Zivilgesellschaft und Menschen aus Frankfurt, um voneinander zu lernen für eine gemeinwohlorientierte Digitalisierung in Gesellschaft und Stadt.
Der Raum kartiert, teilt und vermittelt Werkzeuge, Projekte und Methoden zur digitalen Selbstermächtigung, öffnet digitale Black-Boxen und macht Wissen zugänglich.
display soll durch Akteur*innen der Frankfurter Digital-Community mitgestaltet und bespielt werden und so zu einem Verstärker für Frankfurter Projekte und Expert*innen und einem Interface zur Stadtgesellschaft werden.
Das zukünftige Programm von display umfasst Workshop-Angebote, Vorträge und Ausstellungen rund um digitale Technologien, wie bspw. Creative Coding, DIY-Methoden, digital-künstlerische Praxis oder Open Source Strategien. Dabei versuchen die Angebote fachliche Themen möglichst niedrigschwellig zu vermitteln.
Die Eröffnung ist im Februar 2026 geplant.

Wer sind wir?
Der Frankfurter NODE Verein zur Förderung Digitaler Kultur e.V. versteht sich als Plattform für den praktischen, kreativen und kritischen Austausch zu Technologie und Digitalisierung in Gesellschaft, Kreativwirtschaft und Kunst.
Seit 2008 entwirft NODE Weiterbildungsformate, Festivals, Konferenzen und internationale Austauschformate und unterstützt Künstler*innen und Creative Coder*innen bei der Entwicklung digitaler Projekte.
Das Jugendbildungsprogramm von NODE mit dem Titel “Digitale Welten” macht Angebote, die Jugendlichen mit Kunst und Kreativität wichtige Gestaltungskompetenzen für unsere digitale Gesellschaft vermitteln.

Community & Program Curation: Digital Civil Society, Media Pedagogy is one of the central positions and one of the main hosts of the space. As Community & Program Curator, you will be responsible for helping to shape the program, building a vibrant community, and raising the profile of the space as an intergenerational meeting place for DIY culture, digitality, and media education in Frankfurt. You will establish personal connections with users, people, and organizations in digital civil society, the education sector and hacker communities, and (media) educators—freelancers or students—and stay in regular contact with them. You will involve external partners in the program and develop your own educational or event formats. In doing so, you will work closely with the NODE e.V. team and the other team members in the space.
In addition to you, there will be at least two other people who will take care of the project, design the program, and take care of the space and technical equipment.
Ideally, you have knowledge and your own network in the field of digital civil society, education, and science, and you follow the central discourses—with a focus on digital education and digital policy. To fit in well with the NODE team, you have a strong team spirit, openness, interest, passion for the subject area, and already have a differentiated position on the above-mentioned topics. You already have certain moderation skills and are not afraid to speak publicly as a host and engage in conversation with new people visiting the space.
→ What are your tasks?
- Developing, coordinating, and implementing the program (workshops, talks, etc.), further developing the program’s content, e.g., in the area of intergenerational formats and youth programs related to digital culture.
- Acquiring partners and external programs (e.g., cooperation with schools, adult education centers, libraries, media centers, and stakeholders in education and local government).
- Establishing and maintaining networks between culture, research, civil society, and the creative industries.
- Community work: bringing people together, developing and moderating formats for exchange and discourse.
- Public relations and representation: communicating content, presenting the space at events, creating visibility in Frankfurt.
- Being an approachable contact person during opening hours.
→ Your Profile
- You have at least 3 years of experience in cultural mediation, educational work, or educational program development (full-time, part-time, or in individual projects). We look forward to meeting people from different backgrounds!
- You are enthusiastic about digital culture, creative media education, and participatory formats.
- You have very good communication skills and are very open to networking and bringing people together.
- You are open to and interested in interdisciplinary collaboration with artists, coders, and the local adminstration.
- You are willing to switch between conceptual work and practical organization.
- You enjoy working in a team and are willing to build and help shape a project from the ground up, co-develop processes, and sometimes take on tasks that were not foreseen.
- Digital work environments (Mattermost (or Slack), cloud work environments, etc.) are second nature to you.
- You may even have practical experience in coding or teaching digital tools.
- You have a good knowledge of English and German.
- You live in the Rhine-Main area.

What is display?
display is the new space for digital practice in the center of Frankfurt. As a screen, interdisciplinary and intergenerational meeting place, and open experimental space, it promotes creative, critical, and practical engagement with technology.
It is a hub for informal and community-based learning and practical and political questions surrounding digital transformation. The space connects knowledge, resources, and people—and networks actors from digital civil society and people from Frankfurt to learn from each other for the common good of digitalization in society and the city.
The space maps, shares, and communicates tools, projects, and methods for digital self-empowerment, opens digital black boxes, and makes knowledge accessible.
display is to be co-designed and used by actors from Frankfurt’s digital community, thus becoming an amplifier for Frankfurt projects and experts and an interface to urban society.
The future program of display includes workshops, lectures, and exhibitions on digital technologies, such as creative coding, DIY methods, digital artistic practice, and open source strategies. The aim is to make technical topics as accessible as possible.
The opening is planned for February 2026.

What is NODE?
NODE is a non-profit organization working in the field of creative coding, digital arts and design, an international platform for the critical reflection of technology and society and network in Frankfurt am Main and in Hesse.
Since 2008, NODE has been developing educational formats, organizing international artist exchange programs, conferences and commissioning cross-disciplinary artistic projects. NODE started as an analog gathering of an internationally distributed community of creative coders and developers of the visual programming language vvvv, turning into an organization for more holistic political, cultural, artistic, informatic and digital media discourses and education. NODE runs a festival for digital arts and creative technologies called NODE Forum for Digital Arts.
NODE is also a recognized voluntary youth welfare organization in Hesse. Together with international media artists, we develop workshop and other project formats for young people that invite them to critically and creatively take apart or reinvent technologies. We organize the youth media art festival Digitale Welten and Jugend hackt Frankfurt, as well as various other projects for young people.
