Fabian Ristau was born in 1989 is a drummer, composer and theatre musician. He studied jazz drums at Music College Hannover, the Institute for Music Osnabrück and the University for the Arts Bremen. Since 2015 he lives and works in Berlin. After the theater productions “Woyzeck” and “Sezuan” at Theater Osnabrück he followed the opportunity to work as musical director for the production “Djischihad Express” at the festival “Spieltriebe6”. After that he worked for productions at Theater Bremen and, in collaboration with the collective Neue Dringlichkeit, at Theater Gessnerallee Zürich. Since 2013 he leads a band with the jazz singer Natalia Mateo, who won the Jazz-ECHO as best in 2016. Further more he teaches courses, amongst others at Landesakademie für Musik Sachsen-Anhalt, at schools and other learning facilities.
