Alonso’s art practice as Flor de Fuego investigates digital image and media, producing images and sounds related to live coding, animation, video and the Internet. She has produced projections for full dome live coding at the Planetarium of the City of Buenos Aires and Bogota, and at the Domo Lleno 2019 festival with Iris Saladino. Recently was part of Mutek’s Montreal Festival as part of Amplify DAI. Together with Francisco Raposeiras, she is part of a duo called “c0de p03try” where they work with a performative audiovisual proposal that combines code, chaos and poetry as concepts to be developed. They have exhibited at the JSAmsterdam Nation Conference, at the Experimental Video Festival Pumpumyachkan (Peru), and the International Conference on Live Coding (Ireland). A member of the CliC collective (Collective of Live Coders) she participated in the + CODE festival in Buenos Aires, which was streamed globally, and has been involved with other live coding events and as a VJ. Alonso also actively collaborates in the development of Hydra, a software created by Olivia Jack, and given various talks and workshops in Argentina. A professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UNLP, she is currently doing her thesis in Plastic Arts, and is associate to the Chair of Photography and Digital Image at the Faculty of Fine Arts.
