Jakob Engel (*1988) lives in Cologne. He studied fine arts at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg and film in postgraduate diploma 2 at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. He works as a visual artist, stage designer and musician. He was a scholarship holder of the BMBF and the Freundeskreis der HfbK and is winner of the Lichter-Art Award. His works have been shown at the Kunsthalle Hamburg and Mousonturm, Frankfurt, among other. As a stage designer and theater maker he works together with the director Jan Philipp Stange. Their productions have been shown in Hellerau Dresden, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Ringlokschuppen Ruhr and were invited to the Impulse Festival, Körber-Studio and others.
