Johanna Sentef is an anthropologist and digital curator with a background in science and technology studies. Her work encompasses object-based research, with particular attention to (non)-human actors as mediators in museums, digital infrastructures for cultural heritage, and the epistemic and institutional implications of digitality in arts and culture.

She teaches at Goethe University and has worked in collection coordination since October 2024. She developed DOLCE, an online platform that teaches people how to work with digital collections and databases. From 2021 to 2023, she worked as a curatorial assistant and co-curator at Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden. In 2024, she joined the board of SUSTAIN, a group within the International Committee for Museums and Sustainable Development (ICOM).
