Miriam Walther

Miriam Walther Kohn was born in 1987 in Winterthur and grew up between Switzerland and Brazil. She is a director, curator, production manager, activist, and research fellow at the Zurich University of the Arts. She studied contemporary dance at the “Alvin Ailey School” (diploma) in NYC, theater directing at the “Zurich University of the Arts” (BA and MA) and economics and law at the “University of St. Gallen”. She’s a founding member of the collective Neue Dringlichkeit. Among other she works with Ann Liv Young, Georg Keller, “Markus; Markus” and “Destiny’s Children”. She co-directs the “Zentral-Bühne” of the “Zürcher Theater Spektakel”. In addition, she’s co-initiator of the initiative “Neue Welt” (neuewelt.space). Since 2009 she has been working in Switzerland, Russia, Germany and Israel. 2015 she received the cultural award (section theater) from the City of Zurich.
