Artist Talk with BBB_

Coming from backgrounds as diverse as being students of Electronic Media and Fine Arts, the prodigious electronic music and perfomance project has a lot to offer in terms of concepts and inspirations. Packed with their new and bold augmented reality release I’D RATHER BE AN IPHONE, BBB_ is not only an ever evolving performance project somewhere between electronic zen, post digital psychedelia and in your face theory techno, but also postulates thoughts and opinions on what they call the ‘philosophy of the future that already happened’. while reflecting on emotionality and irrationality in a world of global powers, big data and intelligent technologies.

BBB_ is a post-digital cross disciplinary project, working at the interface of music, performance, art, design and philosophy. Behind BBB_ is the artist duo Alla Poppersoni and Alexander Sahm. Their work is a reflection of emotionality and irrationality in a world of global forces, Big Data and intelligent technologies. Poppersoni and Sahm present themselves as a mediator between digital and physical realities. While Poppersoni speaks conceptional lyrics in her own and synthesized computer voice, Sahm accompanies them with electronic Sound-Ready-Mades. The relinquishment of the stage transforms the performance into an intensive, club-like experience for the audience.

Patrick Raddatz

Artist, Curator, Educator

Patrick is a researcher, artist, music facilitator, working on scientific and artistic research projects focussing on the evolution of House and Techno in Germany, as well as on obsolete media technologies and photography. He currently has a teaching assignment at the University of Art and Design Offenbach and is working at the Institut für Klangforschung and the independent art space saasfee*pavillon.

Having graduated in Visual Communications with majors in Experimental Spatial Concepts and Photography, but originating from an electronic music background as a dj and producer, he is regularly working on concepts for and realizing events such as ROTOR and Robert Johnson Theorie in cooperation with the University of Art and Design Offenbach, the Institut für Klangforschung and partnering institutions. Patrick’s thesis «HOUSE NATION BRD – Regionale Netzwerke in House und Techno von den Anfängen in den 1980ern bis zur Definition eines städtetypischen Sounds in den 1990ern» has been featured at Robert Johnson Theorie and the B3 Biennale.

Patrick has been part of the team creating the first edition of NODE Forum for Digital Arts in 2008.
