What happened in the workshop?
The popular contribution pack vvvv-Message took center stage for this concise introduction workshop. Starting from a blank patch, a sample application was architectured around object data flow with the Message nodes.

Who was the target audience of the workshop?
Everybody interested in how to structure better vvvv applications, how to design a better software architecture. Everybody who ever had a project with too many links, too many S+R or too many Framedelays. So some experience is needed to actually understand the problems vvvv-Message can solve for you.

What did attendees of the workshop learn?

  • The basic nodes to create and handle Messages.
  • How to setup Formulars
  • How to use Keeps, and their Change management.
  • How and why to utilize Serialisation
  • How to use Messages for networking (UDP, ZeroMQ)

He is co-founder of intolight, a studio for interactive and immersive design based in Dresden, Germany.

André Viergutz is a crew member of intolight since the beginning of 2015. Designing, realizing and maintaining interactive experiences, media installations as well as museum exhibits belong to his day to day work, always trying to bring some amazement into people’s faces.

After graduating in Computer Science in 2011 at the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany (diploma) he worked as a research fellow at the Interactive Media Lab Dresden, deep-diving into natural interaction (with robots).

Further equipped with advanced knowledge in computer graphics, computer vision and machine learning the next challenge doesn’t have to wait for long.
