Calling all young coders!
Mark your calendars because Jugend hackt Frankfurt is back for the seventh time! Join us from May 18 to 20 at Jugendhaus Riedberg, where coding meets creativity and critical thinking. Here’s what’s in store for you:
- Connect with like-minded peers and dive into critical discussions about technology.
- Challenge the status quo with thought-provoking questions and explore coding in a supportive environment.
- Bring your ideas to life with hands-on experimentation and development of your own digital tools and prototypes.
- Gain insights from our experienced mentors, who will introduce you to fascinating tech like 3D printing and sensors.
We’re thrilled to welcome everyone, especially those who are underrepresented in the tech world, like girls, people with disabilities, and those from diverse backgrounds. Whether you’re a seasoned coder or just starting out, everyone’s welcome!
You can find all info in German HERE.
Registration is closed.

FAQ
What’s happening at Jugend hackt?
At our Jugend hackt event, you’ll come together with other young people for a weekend to develop technical and creative projects tackling the issues that matter to you. Remember, our motto is: Improve the world with code! At the end, you’ll show your ideas in a closing presentation (your family and friends can come and watch, too). You can also stay overnight at a hostel we’ve organized and there’s a shuttle available for transportation between the hostel and the venue. And don’t worry about meals and drinks – we’ve got you covered for the entire three-day event.
How much does it cost?
The participation fee is 10€ – including meals and the option for overnight stay.
However, we don’t want cost to be a barrier to participation: You can pay any price at the start of the event.
How can I join?
If you’re between 12 and 18 years old, you can register for a spot via our ticket shop. The shop opens on March 1 and you’ll find the link here.
Due to high demand, we often have to select participants after the registration deadline. Our goal is to build a diverse community, so we’ll take fair representation into account. We’ll email you about your application status and if you’re selected, send a parental consent form. You’re officially in once we receive the signed form.

About Jugend hackt
Jugend hackt is a program developed by Open Knowledge Foundation Deutschland e.V. and mediale pfade. Designed to support and promote young coders the hackathon aims at providing opportunities for young talents in the area of software development and tech and ‘improving the world with code’. Guided by mentors with technical expertise, participants use Open Data to work on prototypes and concepts in order to contribute to their version of a better society. The goal of Jugend hackt is to empower young coders, teach them new skills, point out creative and political opportunities to apply these and thereby foster experiences of self-efficacy.
